Director Of Practice Management
The Director of Practice Management oversees the operations of Sonoma Valley Hospital's (SVH) 1206(b) primary care and specialty clinics across multiple locations. This position is responsible for overseeing the operational, financial, and clinical aspects of healthcare practices, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
Operational Oversight: Oversees the day-to-day operations of all clinic locations, ensuring administrative and operational functions of the practice run smoothly. This includes optimizing workflows, improving patient access, and managing overall operations to enhance efficiency. Collaborates with clinic staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and service delivery.
Financial Management: Oversees and manages the revenue cycle, including budgeting and cost control measures to maintain financial health and sustainability. Responsible for financial performance, including coding and billing, collections, and expense management.
Talent Management: Responsible for workforce development, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations. Ensures staff are well-equipped and motivated to deliver high-quality care. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Conducts performance evaluations, offers feedback, and identifies opportunities for professional development. Collaborates with staff on resolving problems and/or performance gaps; develops annual staff engagement improvement plans; and engages in regular communications (department meetings, one-on-ones, performance feedback, etc.).
Regulatory Compliance: Ensures adherence to healthcare regulations and standards. Works to maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies to mitigate risks and avoid legal complications. Stays updated on industry trends, best practices, and changes in regulations affecting clinic operations.
Strategic Planning & Growth: Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance patient care, expand service offerings, and improve overall operational performance. Focuses on implementing the strategic plan around primary and specialty care growth strategies.
Collaboration & Communication: Works closely with clinicians, hospital leadership, and administrative teams to enhance practice operations, patient flow, and business performance while maintaining a focus on quality care and patient access.
Qualifications
Education: Master's degree in healthcare administration, business management or other closely related field is preferred. Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in practice management or healthcare administration, with a strong background in operational management, financial oversight, recruitment and strategic planning. Required Skills & Knowledge: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standards. This role is critical in ensuring healthcare practices operate efficiently while providing high-quality patient care and maintaining financial sustainability. This position plays a vital role in bridging the gap between administrative functions and clinical care, fostering a seamless experience for both healthcare providers and patients.

Actual compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
