Job Title

Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Critical Care Stepdown)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 31-bed Critical Care Stepdown / PCU unit serving adult and geriatric populations
• Manage patients with diagnoses including post-vascular surgery, post-CABG, CVA, respiratory failure, heart failure, chest pain, and post-cath lab recovery
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips and manage chest tubes as part of routine stepdown care
• Operate Baxter IV pumps and occasional epidural pumps; document care accurately using Meditech EHR
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4–1:5 and adhere to unit protocols with no on-call requirements
• Float to med-surg as needed, though this is not expected to occur frequently

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience; 3+ years preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac drips and chest tube management
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) including every other weekend

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Critical Care Stepdown or PCU setting
• Experience with TR (transradial) bands
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record system
