Financial Administration LeaderThe IU School of Medicine is seeking a new Financial Administration Leader to serve as the senior business and administrative leader on the IU School of Medicine Fort Wayne Regional Campus. As a key member of the campus leadership team, this position serves as a trusted advisor and business partner to the Associate Dean and Director, provides strategic staff leadership and oversees financial management, business operations, human resources, research administration, facilities, technology, and administrative services.Department Specific ResponsibilitiesServes as the organization's Fiscal Officer, overseeing budgeting, financial planning and reporting, internal controls, university and foundation accounts, and decision-support analysis.Leads human resources and faculty administration, including recruitment, appointments, compensation, employee relations, promotion and tenure processes, and workforce planning.Supports pre- and post-award research administration, facilities and space planning, technology coordination, internal communications, and the supervision and development of a 5-person administrative staff.Serves as a strategic business partner and member of the campus leadership team, advising the Associate Dean and Director on business operations, short- and long-term planning, organizational priorities, and implementation of strategic goals.Provides financial leadership and fiscal oversight for the campus, including budget development and management, university and foundation accounts, financial reporting, internal controls, accounting structures, asset stewardship, and compliance with university and School of Medicine policies.Oversees human resources and personnel administration for faculty, staff, students, graduate assistants, and fellows, including recruitment, hiring, reappointments, promotions, evaluations, position classifications, compensation, time and leave administration, employee relations, licensure, and immigration requirements.Manages faculty affairs and academic appointment processes, including faculty recruitment, promotion and tenure, mentoring programs, mid-career reviews, performance evaluations, faculty salary planning, and appointment/reappointment of volunteer clinical faculty.Provides decision support and business analysis to campus leadership by preparing recurring and ad-hoc financial and operational reports, analyzing university and internal data, identifying trends and risks, and recommending courses of action and implementation plans.Oversees facilities, space, and equipment management, including space allocation and utilization, renovations, moves, maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and coordination with university, host campus, and School of Medicine facilities and space-planning partners.Coordinates information technology needs and initiatives in collaboration with Health Technology Services (HTS), University Information Technology Services (UITS), host campus technology teams, and other partners to ensure effective technology support for campus operations.Leads internal communications and administrative coordination, developing and distributing presentations, reports, policy and procedure updates, building notifications, and other communications to leadership, faculty, staff, students, and university and host campus partners.Manages pre- and post-award research administration, including proposal development, award and contract administration, expenditures, cost transfers, salary recovery, and compliance with university, School of Medicine, and funding agency requirements.Provides leadership and supervision for administrative office staff, establishing priorities, supporting staff development and performance, promoting effective business processes, and ensuring high-quality administrative services for the campus.General ResponsibilitiesSupervises the day-to-day work activities of Financial Administration Specialists performing various administrative support activities primarily in the areas of financial management and compliance.Responsible for accuracy, timelines, and the general integrity of the Financial Administration family.Provides training and development of newly assigned or less experienced personnel.Advises higher-level people leaders regarding the effective use of resources and methods to maximize earnings.Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing financial processes and develops sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements.Develops and prepares budgets and financial reports for grants, general appropriations, endowments, and other funds.Creates annual revenue and expenditure budget for school or support unit. Develops budgetary policies and procedures.Provides input into non-technical portions of grant and contract proposals.Qualifications Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
