Line Quality Control Technician

The Line Quality Control Technician ensures that products meet all quality standards during production by verifying raw components, performing in-process and packaging testing, and supporting accurate calibration of gauges and equipment. This role works closely with quality assurance, laboratory, and production teams to identify and communicate any issues, maintain compliance with procedures, and help drive continuous improvement on the manufacturing line.

Responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy of raw components brought to the production line before use.
• Perform all testing outlined in the master work order, including in-process production data and packaging checks.
• Confirm calibration and accuracy of all gauges used on the production line.
• Work with the QA Laboratory Technician to maintain proper calibration of gauges and related equipment.
• Collaborate with mechanics and Production Line Supervisors to immediately communicate any out-of-specification results and ensure production meets all quality specifications.
• Follow established procedures for alerting members of the Quality Department regarding out-of-specification results and support appropriate disposition.
• Retrieve in-process and finished product samples during production as required by internal standards or customer requirements.
• Assist the QA Laboratory Technician in the management, handling, and organization of samples.
• Identify gaps in existing processes and procedures and communicate improvement opportunities.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all relevant safety and quality guidelines.
• Support troubleshooting efforts on the production line when quality or process issues arise.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and measurements performed during the shift.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of quality control or quality inspection experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with quality assurance and inspection activities on a production line.
• Ability to use a tape measure accurately for dimensional checks.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or similar technical documents.
• Experience working with or around packaging machines in a production setting.
• Basic math skills to perform measurements, calculations, and data recording.
• Mechanical aptitude to understand how production and packaging equipment operates.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to help resolve quality and process issues.
• Knowledge of and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Ability to stand and walk for approximately 95% of the workday.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more as part of routine job duties.

Work Environment

This role is on 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with overtime possible depending on production demands. The work takes place in a well-lit, clean, automated, and climate-controlled manufacturing facility. The position is physically active, with approximately 95% of the day spent standing and walking and regular lifting of 50+ pounds. You will work around packaging machinery, gauges, and other production equipment in a structured, quality-focused environment, with a close-knit team that communicates well and supports one another.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42120.00 - $42120.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
