As a PRN Occupational Therapist, you will participatein the evaluation and treatment of patients based upon current principles and practices ofOT. These functions are performedin accordance withall applicable laws andregulationsand MedStar Georgetown‘s philosophy, policies,procedures,and standards. Primary Duties: Provides direct OT evaluations and re-evaluations, including assessment of prior and current level of functioning, settingappropriate goalsand makingappropriate dischargerecommendationsin accordance withstandards of practice. Providesdirect OT treatments according to standards of practice, including patient and family education, progression of treatment plan and implementation ofappropriate therapeuticinterventions. Utilizesappropriate documentationforms and abidesbyPM&R’s documentation standards. Collaborates with physicians, patients,family,and other members of the health care teamrelativeto patient treatment and progress and other affiliated agenciesregardingeffective discharge planning. Coordinates and prioritizes own schedule in relation to demands of patient treatment and other departmental responsibilities. Demonstrates proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. MaintainsCEUs (Continuing Education Unit)per state requirements for continued professional competency. Adheres to all Department of Health and Joint Commission regulationsregardingthe physical environment and patient care. Qualifications: Bachelor‘s degree in occupational therapy. 1-2 years Related clinical practice experience in an acute care or rehabilitation facility.
