Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PACU Registered Nurse to join our post-anesthesia care team. The PACU RN plays a key role in recovering patients safely following surgery and anesthesia. This role requires critical thinking, strong patient assessment skills, and the ability to respond quickly in high-acuity situations. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures Monitor and assess vital signs, level of consciousness, pain, nausea, and surgical sites Administer medications and manage IV therapy, oxygen support, and pain control Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and fellow nurses to ensure safe recovery and transition to discharge or next level of care Educate patients and families on post-operative instructions and next steps Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all safety, infection control, and quality standards Who We Are Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Main Street is part of United Surgical Partners International (USPI) , which partners with physicians and health systems to provide world-class surgical care in outpatient settings. Required Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Nursing) Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas BLS (CPR) certification required ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire (if not already certified) Strong post-anesthesia assessment and monitoring skills Effective communication and clinical decision-making in fast-paced settings Proficiency in managing airways, pain control, IVs, oxygen therapy, and monitoring systems Ability to remain calm and responsive in emergent or high-acuity recovery situations Required Experience Minimum 1 year of PACU or critical care experience required Experience with post-operative patients across multiple specialties preferred (e.g., Orthopedics, ENT, GI, General Surgery, Ophthalmology) Pre-op or OR experience is a plus Familiarity with sedation recovery protocols and discharge criteria Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Nursing) Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas BLS (CPR) certification required ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire (if not already certified) Strong post-anesthesia assessment and monitoring skills Effective communication and clinical decision-making in fast-paced settings Proficiency in managing airways, pain control, IVs, oxygen therapy, and monitoring systems Ability to remain calm and responsive in emergent or high-acuity recovery situations #J-18808-Ljbffr
