HELP WANTED: NEWS REPORTER
Tell the stories that matter
to your community
Do you like meeting people, asking questions and finding out what’s really going on in your community?
The Maryville Forum, a once-weekly newspaper serving communities in Nodaway and Worth counties in northwest Missouri, is looking for an experienced journalist who understands the importance of strong local news and wants to make a difference in the communities we serve.
This isn’t a job where you sit behind a desk all day. You’ll be out in the community covering the people, events and issues that matter — from local government and schools to businesses, community events, interesting people and the stories everyone will be talking about tomorrow.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is curious and enjoys talking with people
- Can write clearly and tell a good story
- Is dependable, organized and willing to meet deadlines
- Has an interest in local news and the community
- Is comfortable taking photos and using basic technology
- Wants to do work that makes a difference
If you’re a good writer, naturally curious
and willing to learn, we want to hear from you.
What We Offer
- A chance to become an important part of the community
- Interesting work where every day is different
- Opportunities to meet people from all walks of life
- A supportive small-town newspaper environment
- Competitive pay
- Benefits, including a retirement plan
- The satisfaction of producing content your neighbors actually read and depend on
Local newspapers still matter. So do the people who tell the stories of our community.
