EVS Housekeeping Lead

Job Title Environmental Services Lead, Full‑Time, Days. Pay range: $22.61 - $28.94 Department and Reporting Environmental Services, reports to Environmental Services Manager. Summary Responsible for coordinating daily operations and staffing of the Environmental Services Department while ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety for all hospital areas. Key Responsibilities Clean and disinfect specialty units and equipment (Surgical Services, Labor Delivery, Critical Care, Endoscopy, MRI, Trauma, Cath Lab, NICU, Mental Health). Follow healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles, safety, infection control standards, chemical usage, equipment handling, and labor‑saving products. Maintain accurate logs, checklists, and cart supplies. Adhere to EPA, CDC, Joint Commission, AHE, APIC, and AORN guidelines. Participate in departmental performance‑improvement initiatives and customer service protocols. Coordinate staffing schedules and provide quality control on services delivered. Operate within environmental and infection‑prevention practices, including proper PPE usage. Champion continuous‑improvement practices and contribute to a healing environment. Education and Certification High school diploma or GED (equivalent education and experience considered). Certification: Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) required. Preferred: CHEST certification. Physical Requirements Duty involves standing, walking, lifting up to 50lbs, bending, kneeling, and operating PPE, among other manual tasks. Availability for scheduled shift work (7:00‑3:30, days and possibly weekends).
