Cath Lab Technician

Job Summary:


The Cath Lab Tech is responsible for performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including Percutaneous Coronary Interventions, Structural Heart interventions, and Electrophysiology studies. The role requires skilled operation of specialized equipment, patient monitoring, and collaboration with the cardiac care team to ensure high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The candidate must have a minimum of one year of Cath Lab Tech experience and hold all required certifications and licenses.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Assist with Percutaneous Coronary Interventions such as stents, balloon angioplasty, laser, rota, impella, IABP, and CTO.
• Support Structural Heart procedures including TAVR, balloon valvuloplasty, and Watchman device implantation.
• Participate in Electrophysiology procedures including EPS, Afib/flutter ablations, BIV, and pacemaker implants.
• Monitor patient vital signs and rhythm interpretation during procedures.
• Operate and maintain cardiac catheterization lab equipment according to safety standards.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other team members to ensure optimal patient care.
• Document procedures and patient information using the EPIC charting system.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Cath Lab Tech.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• ARRT-R (Radiologic Technologist - Registered) or CCI RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification.
• Washington State RT or CIS License (active, not pending).
• Ability to perform rhythm interpretation.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Advanced knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and equipment.

Special Considerations:

• On-call requirement: 1 call day per week plus 1 weekend every 5-6 weeks.
• Residency within 50 miles is ineligible; local candidates not accepted.
• All requested time off must be submitted with application.
• Work environment is a short-term acute care hospital with 325 staffed beds.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule consists of four 10-hour day shifts, from 06:30 to 17:00.
