General Counsel

Concordia is seeking an experienced General Counsel to serve as the organization’s senior legal executive and a key member of the executive leadership team.

We are looking for someone with long term care experience whos well versed and familiar with the rules and regulations in this field.

This position will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, senior leadership and Board of Directors, providing strategic legal guidance across Concordia and its affiliated entities. What You’ll Do as General Counsel:

The General Counsel *will oversee Concordia’s legal function and advise leadership on _ corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, real estate, health care regulatory compliance, physician contracting, Stark and Anti-Kickback requirements, risk management, litigation and labor and employment matters.*_

Key responsibilities of *General Counsel *include:

• Lead the legal function, including legal staff, budgets and outside counsel
• Advise executive leadership and the Board on legal, regulatory and strategic business matters
• Lead legal aspects of acquisitions, divestitures and due diligence and review and negotiate complex agreements
• Partner with Compliance and operational leadership to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risk
• Manage significant litigation and outside counsel
• Serve as Corporate Secretary and maintain appropriate corporate records
• Monitor evolving federal and state health care laws, regulations and industry requirements

Qualifications of General Counsel:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active State Bar admission
• Ability to qualify as Limited In-House Corporate Counsel in Pennsylvania, if applicable
• 15+ years of health care legal experience
• Substantial in-house counsel experience with a health system or similarly complex health care organization
• Strong experience in health care law, corporate transactions, M&A, regulatory compliance, contract negotiations and litigation management
• Exceptional judgment, communication, negotiation and leadership skills with a high degree of ethics and integrity
