Location & Role: This is a hybrid Project Manager I position located at the Zeiss facility in Wixom, MI. You will manage all project‑related activities from receipt of the purchase order to project close, overseeing scope, deliverables, timeline, resources, and budget. Responsibilities Coordinate and run project kick‑off meetings for internal and external parties at project launch. Understand and manage the scope of work. Create and maintain project timelines, issues, milestones, and technical gates. Participate and lead in project gates as necessary. Enter and maintain budgeted costs and actual costs in the Job Cost Module within the ERP system. Issue purchase requisitions for sub‑contracted products and services; order long‑lead‑time items early to align shipping times with project gates. Manage indirect resources, both internal and external, to meet deliverables and timelines. Schedule and attend meetings with the customer to review progress and ensure satisfaction. Maintain project‑tracking reports. Utilize Project Planning and Operations ERP tools. Track and align scheduled equipment and material deliveries. Participate in creating proposals and Gate A approval meetings as needed. Keep projects within scope, on schedule, and on budget. Drive open items and impasses to resolution. Obtain proof of delivery from internal departments. Support quoting, early concept development, and related cost/time estimates. Interface between off‑site teams and the customer during integration, installations, and final commissioning. Inform teams of scheduling or engineering changes and other new or updated information. Lead regular meetings, both internally and externally, to keep teams closely aligned from project kickoff through completion. Build long‑lasting customer relationships, conveying important timing plans, critical path tasks, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Qualifications • BS degree in an engineering discipline is preferred; equivalent project management experience may be considered. 2–4 years of project management experience in a related industry is desired. Experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent project‑management software is required. Experience with Wrike, SAP, or Salesforce is helpful. Able to read and understand engineering drawings. Experience with automation systems used in automotive, aerospace, or medical manufacturing industries is preferred. Nice to Haves Ability to work in a fast‑paced high‑pressure environment. Ability to interface effectively with customers at many levels in their organizations. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent Microsoft Office skills. Working Conditions Ability to travel by car or plane up to 30% of the time, including international travel.
