About the Team

The US Restaurant Team is responsible for growing the Restaurant business in the US, helping customers access the best selection on the platform, and ensuring merchants grow their sales. Specifically, the New Restaurants Models pod is building DoorDash's capability to create its own selection to fill gaps in the market and giving customers more affordable options. The team also pioneers new partnership models with restaurants in service of bringing customers the food selection they want in every neighborhood.

About the Role

As Director, New Restaurant Models, you will lead the team that builds DoorDash-created restaurant concepts, including scaling our existing Dashmart Kitchens Business and testing new ways to create a portfolio of ultra affordable options for customers. Examples of new models include collaborating with large Enterprise brands, vetting joint partnerships with smaller SMB merchants, and building our own network of kitchens. You'll set the operating model, build the team, and grow this business from its current footprint into a national offering. This is a high-visibility, entrepreneurial role at the intersection of product, operations, and partnerships — building something that doesn't exist anywhere else on the platform. You will report into a Director on our Restaurant team in our Marketplace organization.

• Experiment – Set the testing agenda for the business, back your team to take smart risks, and scale what works even when there's no obvious right answer.
• Influence – Represent Kitchens & New Models across the US Marketplace org — shaping roadmaps, securing investment, and aligning senior stakeholders.

We’re excited about you because…

• You have 12+ years of experience in strategy & operations, consulting, or general management, with a track record of owning a business line, P&L, or major strategic initiative; high-growth startup experience is a plus.
• You have 7+ years of people management experience, including experience managing managers or building a team from the ground up.
• You have led complex, cross-functional initiatives at an organizational level and delivered results against ambitious goals.
• You can motivate and align people at every level of the organization, from frontline teams to executives..
• You can translate ambiguous, high-level goals into concrete execution plans, and move fluidly between strategic altitude and operational detail.
• You love getting into the weeds, and know when that's the right level to operate at versus when to zoom out.

Compensation

Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location.

See below for paid time off details:

• For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
• For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.

$197,200—$290,000 USD
