Road Warrior Staffing is seeking an experienced CDL A Driver to join our team in Sacramento, CA. The CDL A Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of non-hazardous and hazardous waste materials while supporting environmental remediation and emergency-response activities.

This position involves operating multiple types of commercial vehicles and equipment, including Roll-Offs, Tankers, Box Vans, Air Movers, and other company vehicles. The Driver may also perform hands-on environmental and remediation activities such as confined-space entry, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, shoveling, and high-pressure washing.

The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This position is predominantly local but may require out-of-town travel, overnight assignments, and participation in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.

Duties

Ensure health and safety is the number one priority by following company policies, processes, and safe work practices.
Safely operate commercial vehicles used to transport non-hazardous and hazardous waste materials.
Operate multiple vehicle types, including Roll-Offs, Tankers, Box Vans, Air Movers, and other company vehicles.
Adhere to and document all transportation compliance requirements, including inspection reports, mileage logs, trip reports, and other required documentation.
Load and unload different types of waste materials safely and effectively.
Perform labor-intensive environmental remediation activities in all weather conditions.
Assist with non-emergency and emergency-response activities, including confined-space entry, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, shoveling, and high-pressure washing.
Operate light and heavy equipment, including forklifts, aerial lifts, boom lifts, skid steers, excavators, pressure washers, pumps, and other company work vehicles.
Properly wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all safety procedures.
Work in environments with low clearances, confined spaces, and at heights when required.
Attend mandatory training to obtain required certifications and information specific to job responsibilities.
Ensure all required paperwork is properly completed, signed, and submitted.
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.
Complete mandatory out-of-town travel as required by the service center and ongoing projects.
Comply with ongoing and random drug testing and health physicals as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Driver positions do not have a set or fixed schedule. Unless assigned to a long-term project with a consistent schedule, drivers will typically receive their work assignment for the following day the evening before. Candidates should also be prepared to support emergency response operations as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
At least 2 years of Class A driving experience.
Current CDL A with a clean driving record.
Current Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
No manual or air-brake restrictions.
40-hour HAZWOPER experience/certification preferred.
Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
Experience operating multiple vehicle types such as Roll-Offs, Tankers, Box Vans, and Air Movers preferred.
Safety-oriented mindset with the determination to follow all procedures and policies.
Hazmat transportation experience, including placarding and manifesting.
Active listening, coordination, social perceptiveness, and effective operation monitoring.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English in accordance with DOT guidelines.
Must be able to report to the field office within one hour while on call.
Demonstrated accountability and punctuality.
Education and Experience
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years of Class A driving experience.
Current CDL A with a clean driving record.

40-hour HAZWOPER experience/certification preferred.
