Description:
Seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant to support the health and well-being of students during the school day.
The CNA works under the supervision of a licensed School Nurse and assists with daily health-related needs of students.
Responsibilities include assisting students with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as toileting, feeding, dressing, and mobility as required by individual health care plans.
The role also involves supporting students with medical needs, including positioning, transferring, monitoring vital signs, and observing for changes in health status.
The CNA assists with maintaining accurate health records and documentation.
Preparing and cleaning medical equipment is also essential.
Organizing the health office is part of the responsibilities.
Provide care to students with chronic health conditions, physical disabilities, and developmental or behavioral needs.
Responding appropriately to student health issues and emergencies is crucial, reporting concerns immediately to the School Nurse or administration.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized health office environment is required.
Following all confidentiality, infection control, and safety protocols is mandatory.
The role also includes working collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to support student needs.
Assisting with arrival, dismissal, field trips, or transportation for students with medical needs is expected.
Performing other duties as assigned consistent with the scope of practice is also part of the role.
This position requires an understanding of the specific needs related to seizure monitoring and working closely with the School Nurse for medication administration and care continuity.
