What you’ll be doing: Performs daily observation of contractor activities and completes Inspectors Daily Reports. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local agency construction administration policies. Fosters a safety culture on the project site. Inspects, monitors, and oversees construction field work tasks and activities on a project to ensure conformance to plans and specifications. Reads, interprets, and confirms compliance with applicable contract documents. Performs or oversees on-site material testing. Reviews plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities and qualities). Responsible for the tracking of item quantities and preparing pay estimates and ensures that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications. Initiates field changes to drawings and specifications and identifies discrepancies or conflicts within the documents. Reviews contractors daily construction reports for accuracy, thoroughness, and consistency. Consults on work progress and construction problems, proactively recommends solutions, assists in the resolution of issues, and acts as a liaison with the engineer of record. What you’ll need to be successful (minimum requirements): High School degree and relevant and progressive work experience required. Ability to perform mathematics sufficient for volumetric calculation and basic surveying is required.
