Travel RN - Pediatric ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position at a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of high-acuity PICU experience and Epic proficiency. Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required Current BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 2 years of high-acuity Pediatric ICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year Epic EMR experience required Experience with Arctic Sun, EVDs, Camino device (ICP and temperature monitoring), and Belmont Rapid Infuser required Proficiency in critical care vasoactive drip titration and management of invasive lines (A-lines, CVP) required Experience with ventilator and trach management, CRRT, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, sedation/analgesic drip management, and HOFV management required Competency with g‑tube/j‑tube, feeding tubes, Foley insertion, oral/nasal suctioning, aseptic/sterile techniques, and basic dressing changes required Comfort in a high‑acuity, fast‑paced pediatric environment required Ability to float to Pediatric CVICU (assessed during interview) Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, required for consideration Responsibilities Work in a 24‑bed Pediatric ICU with an average census of 21–23 patients Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital Patient population includes respiratory illness, trauma (including penetrating and non‑accidental trauma), DKA, seizures, neurosurgical cases, acute/chronic renal failure, orthopedic, surgical, transplants (kidney and whole/partial liver), complex medical, and blood disorders Nurse‑to‑patient ratios vary by acuity: 2:1, 1:1, or 1:2 12‑hour night shifts (1845–0715), 36 hours per week Every other weekend rotation required Alternating major holidays required Floating required as needed to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, and General Pediatrics EMR: Epic (experience required) IV pumps: Alaris and Medfusion syringe pumps Medication dispensing via Omnicell; monitoring via Philips Additional equipment includes Belmont Rapid Infuser, Accuvein, PIV Ultrasound, Arctic Sun, Camino, EV‑1000 Vigileo, I‑Stat, and Accuryn No on‑call requirements for travelers First‑time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast facility must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible Unit support includes CNAs/health tech aides, a unit secretary, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, resource nurse, respiratory therapy, intensivist, residents, and APPs — all available 24/7 Centralized and bedside monitoring available; no telemetry monitoring tech Orientation includes a facility‑level NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation Scheduling cycles occur every 6 weeks; RTO requires manager approval Navy scrubs required Free parking available Unit culture emphasizes teamwork, trust, accountability, respect, and compassion Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non‑taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-702854 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
