Position Overview Under the general direction of the Inbound Supervisor, the Logistics Specialist II/Materials Handler is responsible for safe and efficient movement of materials. Also responsible for inventory management utilizing physical and electronic methods, including unloading trucks, processing bulk inventory requirements, and inventory management systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Material movement (physical and electronic) of finished goods and component inventory. Unload trucks personnel and directing assigned personnel. Fulfill bulk inventory requirement for both assembly and outside contractors. Maintain forklifts in a clean and ready state for operations, including required safety inspections. Maintain warehouse space for optimal utilization. Identify and report any safety hazards immediately. Attend safety training and follow all company safety rules. Maintain good housekeeping in personal area and all commons areas. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED 2-5 years of experience Competencies and Skills Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communication skills. Type accurately. Act as a team leader by training, guiding, and motivating. Prioritize tasks and be able to switch tasks as needed. Ability to follow/direct precise processes. Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, D365 and general computing skills. General office equipment Generally, work within established precedent, with some initiative and judgment required. Good organizational skills Physical Demands Regular and predictable attendance is required. Some work is required in "off-hours" for work demands. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer. Ability to move about facility on regular basis to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking. Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. The work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards. The following Personal Protective Equipment is required: Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor.
