Manager of Student Advocacy and Accountability (HEA) New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn offering associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for a Manager of Student Advocacy and Accountability.

POSITION DETAILS

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, the Manager of Student Advocacy and Accountability will, in addition to the CUNY Title Overview: Lead overall operations of the student conduct process for City Tech, including, but not limited to: Investigating incident reports and other alleged policy violations by students in accordance with Article 15 of the CUNY Bylaws (Standards of Conduct and Student Disciplinary Procedures) and article 129-A of the Education Law (Henderson Rules); Tracking and maintaining student conduct reports; Managing the student conduct process, grievances, and appeals. Develop, maintain, and promote an educational and holistic approach to the student conduct process. Oversee the Faculty Student Disciplinary Committee to ensure compliance with fair and due process. Manage and facilitate the procedures involved in academic integrity cases when the college seeks disciplinary sanction(s) under Article XV of the CUNY Bylaws. Issue interim measures, including but not limited to: no-contact orders in advance of student conduct process outcomes when necessary; advise other administrators seeking similar interim measures to support student needs. Implement student rights and responsibilities policies and administrative procedures, including: Student conduct/disciplinary process; Early intervention student support service process; Resolution of student grievances, appeals, and complaints; Utilization of the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). Create and maintain collaborative and productive partnerships with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Public Safety, college administrative offices and the City University of New York Central Office. Liaise closely with Public Safety regarding general campus safety/climate and Clery Act reporting and disclosure, and with the Office of Compliance and Diversity on Title IX, discrimination, and harassment complaints. Maintain the integrity of student conduct records and database. Manage student conduct record requests. Administer the review and implementation of the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) procedure, including the monitoring of compliance with Federal regulations. Process Title IV appeals. Supervise and provide professional guidance to office support staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree, preferably in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Affairs or a related field. Familiarity with and understanding of FERPA, the Clery Act, Title IV financial aid programs, and general student disciplinary, conduct, and academic progress policies in a higher education setting. Proficiency in conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation. Strong knowledge of restorative justice frameworks, alternative dispute resolution, and educationally focused conduct administration. Demonstrated experience implementing equitable and culturally responsive conduct practices that support diverse student populations. Background in balancing student accountability, student well-being, and educational outcomes. Ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies and procedures to students, faculty members, administration and other stakeholders. Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$94,909 - $113,982. Salary commensurate with education and experience. CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/01/2026, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
