W2 Only | No C2C ArrangementsWe are partnering with a well-established, industry-leading organization seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its accounting team in Irvine. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering significant visibility, growth potential, and the opportunity to step into a leadership-focused role within a collaborative accounting environment.The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of operational accounting and accounts receivable expertise, with the ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and contribute to a fast-paced month-end close process.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complex accounts receivable functions, including cash application, deposit reconciliations, aging analysis, and customer account research
• Process and reconcile high-volume customer remittances across multiple invoices and orders
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and month-end close support schedules
• Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Maintain fixed asset records and related accounting schedules
• Assist with financial reporting and general ledger maintenance
• Support audit requests and organize supporting documentation
• Monitor outstanding receivables and help drive collection and reconciliation efforts
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting team members
• Partner with leadership on special projects and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong accounts receivable and cash application experience required
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Proficiency with QuickBooks required
• ERP system experience preferred
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
