Materials & Supply Chain Manager

Job Details:
We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager to lead our materials and supply chain operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position will oversee purchasing, material planning, inventory control, scheduling, warehouse operations, shipping, and supplier management.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, analytical leader with strong manufacturing and supply chain experience who can reduce costs, improve efficiency, and lead a high-performing materials team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead purchasing, materials planning, inventory, scheduling, warehouse, and shipping activities.
- Develop strategies to reduce material and supplier costs while improving quality and delivery.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, bids, and vendor agreements.
- Monitor inventory, spending, and key supply chain metrics.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Finance to improve material flow and production performance.
- Develop department goals, budgets, forecasts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Materials team.
- Identify and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Materials, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership and people-management experience.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems; Oracle experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing BOMs, make/buy components, and material requirements planning.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
