The Opportunity

JM Test Systems is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to join the team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana , managing and growing an assigned territory.

This role combines new business development, account management, and consultative selling . You’ll build new customer relationships, expand existing accounts, and connect customers with calibration, repair, rental, and test and measurement solutions.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys being in the field, building relationships, and taking ownership of their territory.

What You’ll Do

• Prospect and develop new accounts within your territory
• Manage and grow existing customer relationships
• Identify new opportunities within current accounts and adjacent markets
• Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate technical solutions
• Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and product/service information
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and CRM activity
• Participate in pipeline reviews and sales forecasting
• Collaborate with service operations, marketing, and customer success
• Attend customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events
• Travel throughout the assigned territory, typically 40–60%

What We’re Looking For

Required

• 3+ years of B2B outside sales experience
• Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
• Experience generating new business through prospecting, cold outreach, networking, and referrals
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong territory planning and time-management skills
• Experience with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience

Preferred

• Experience in calibration, metrology, test and measurement, instrumentation rental, or technical services
• Experience selling into electrical utilities, oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, or industrial manufacturing
• Experience with consultative or solution selling
• Experience managing accounts in a technical or engineered-services environment

Work Environment

This role is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and combines remote home-office work, customer-site visits, and occasional in-office work. Regular territory travel by car and occasional air travel are required.
