Network Engineer, Level 1 (FORECASTED)

Network Engineer Level 1As a Network Engineer Level 1 at Independent Software, you will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure supporting mission-critical operations. You will work with Network and System Administrators to monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure systems are operating efficiently and securely. You will assist in maintaining current network environments while contributing to improvements in system performance, automation, and reliability.Key Responsibilities:Provide support to Network Administrators and System AdministratorsMonitor network performance and assist with troubleshooting connectivity issuesSupport day-to-day network operations, including routers, switches, and network devicesAssist with network configuration, upgrades, and maintenance activitiesSupport network defense operations and basic security practicesContribute to improving system performance and reliabilityAssist in automating network administration tasks where applicableSupport documentation of network configurations and proceduresProvide input to network design and architecture effortsAssist in implementing and maintaining network infrastructureRequired Skills and Qualifications:Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching)Familiarity with network devices such as routers, switches, and firewallsExperience troubleshooting basic network connectivity issuesUnderstanding of network security fundamentalsAbility to follow technical procedures and documentationStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentStrong communication skillsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Network Engineering or a related disciplineANDThree (3) years of relevant professional experience providing network engineering supportORMaster's degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline and one (1) year of relevant experienceORFour (4) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degreeCertifications:Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is requiredClearance Requirement:Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this roleWhy Choose Independent Software: At Independent Software, our people are the mission.
