The ideal candidate is a hands-on Senior .NET Engineer with strong C# and SQL Server expertise, practical Python experience, and a deep understanding of asset management and investment data. The candidate should be comfortable working with business and technical stakeholders in a collaborative, onsite project environment.

Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior .NET Engineer to join their team and contribute to the design, development, and delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in .NET, C#, SQL Server, and Python , along with a solid understanding of the asset management domain and investment data .

This role requires a technically strong engineer who can collaborate with cross-functional teams, translate business requirements into effective technical solutions, and ensure application performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of professional experience in .NET application development.
• Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET/.NET Core platform .
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server , including database design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
• Working experience with Python for scripting, automation, or data-related tasks.
• Strong understanding of the asset management domain, investment data, and financial services concepts .
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Chicago four days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience with ASP.NET Core, microservices, and modern application architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience working on investment management, portfolio management, financial data, or other financial services applications.
• Previous experience providing technical guidance, mentoring developers, or leading engineering initiatives.
