Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: RN Registered / Licensed - Post Acute Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 7 am - 7 pm Experience: Less than 1 year of direct patient nursing care experience preferred License: RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact Certifications: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor or ACLS-P - ACLS-Provisional BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor Must-Have: Critical care experience preferred Ventilator experience is a plus Description: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. The RN practices in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. They are supported through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core values. All RN Clinical Nurses must be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act. They are expected to implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards set forth by the professional organization. As a member of the patient services team, the RN must uphold the voice of the patient and system policies while supporting service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The RN performs the Nursing Process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care. They utilize evidence-based practice and analytical thinking to ensure care is individualized. The RN coordinates care through effective partnerships, recognizing that caring is central to optimal patient outcomes. They provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that is consistent with population-specific characteristics. The RN actively partners with the patient and significant others to keep them updated and make patient goals the focus of the care plan. They practice using current clinical practice standards. The RN coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care. This includes diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods and timely documentation. They promote a respectful, inclusive clinical environment. The RN demonstrates teamwork and collaboration while practicing in a fiscally responsible manner. They support performance improvement, including initiating and leading activities that promote safe, quality patient care. The RN completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education. They may serve as a preceptor and mentor for other professional nurses and staff. The RN promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. They participate in data collection and consult appropriate experts when addressing practice questions. The RN proactively plans for patient care across the care continuum. They participate in developing protocols and procedures in collaboration with team members. The RN supports the efficient and effective use of human and material resources. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. The RN must comply with all policies, standards of work, and codes of conduct.
