Job Summary We are seeking a motivated, experienced, and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team. In this onsite role, you will serve as a key medical leader, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in the administration of ketamine and esketamine treatments. You will evaluate patients, manage medical clearances, and collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team—including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, medical assistants, and office staff—to provide cutting‑edge care for individuals with treatment‑resistant mental health conditions. We support academic psychiatrists, as well, as there are teaching opportunities to local residency programs and interest in publication (including running studies). This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial and team‑oriented psychiatrist who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to help expand a medically oriented, patient‑centered treatment center. Schedule Full‑time Daytime hours, somewhat flexible, Monday through Friday No night shifts, weekends, or on‑call duties Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric intakes and follow‑ups for patients receiving ketamine/esketamine therapy Administer and oversee ketamine/esketamine treatments, determining appropriate dosing for each patient Assess medical clearances and manage high‑risk patients to ensure safety and efficacy of treatments Supervise and train medical staff, including residents and fellows, in the administration of ketamine/esketamine therapy Collaborate with outpatient providers (OPs) and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care Communicate with external referring providers to coordinate patient treatment plans Lead and support clinical team members, fostering a patient‑centered and team‑oriented culture Oversee prior authorizations and ensure all required documentation for treatment approval is completed Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research opportunities, and professional development efforts Qualifications Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution Board Certification in Psychiatry (or eligibility) Valid medical license in Maryland Experience in psychiatric care; experience with ketamine/esketamine treatments preferred but not required Leadership and management experience in a clinical setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and support patients and their families Ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative, team‑based approach Interest in research and advancing the field of medical psychedelics Desired Characteristics Warm, compassionate, and engaging presence with patients and staff Strong entrepreneurial mindset, motivated to contribute to clinic growth and innovation Comfort with discussing and engaging in psychedelic medicine within a medical framework Flexible problem‑solver with independent decision‑making skills Passionate about patient care and committed to clinical excellence Benefits Competitive salary: $250,000 - $300,000 per year (based on experience) 20 days of paid time off (PTO) Paid holidays per company policy Excellent medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus supplemental coverage 401(k) with matching contributions Health, dental, and vision insurance Opportunities for subletting space for after‑hours private practice Opportunities for professional development in an innovative mental health environment Work Setting Outpatient treatment center In‑person role at Lumin Health location (4825 Bethesda Ave, Bethesda, MD 20814) Team‑based and interdisciplinary environment About Our Culture Lumin Health’s approach to care is unique, warm, and patient‑centered.
