Kindred Hospital Dallas Central and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) provide specialized care for patients with complex medical needs. Our long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) offers advanced, hospital-level treatment for chronically and critically ill patients requiring extended stays. In addition, our Acute Rehabilitation Unit is dedicated to helping patients recover from the effects of acute injuries, impairments, or illnesses. With a focus on personalized care, both the LTACH and ARU collaborate with your physician to provide 24/7 clinical care, ensuring continuous support on your path to recovery.

Administers ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Performs a full scope of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and acquires and analyzes data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Prepares, administers, and documents activities related to contrast medications and radiation exposure in accordance with state laws, regulations, and company policy.

1. Receive, relay and document verbal, facsimile, electronic and/or telephone orders in the patient's chart as permitted by state and company policies.
2. Provide education and prepare patients for procedures.
3. Select the appropriate protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety.
4. Apply principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.
5. Apply three basic principles of radiation safety: time, distance and shielding.
6. Observe patient and machine during procedure and report any unexpected outcomes.
7. Clean and disinfect x-ray room and equipment as per infection control policy.
8. Evaluate images for proper positioning and determine if additional images will improve the procedure or treatment outcome.
9. Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
10. Corroborate a patient's clinical history with the procedure and ensure information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
11. Postprocess images and data.
12. Verify archival storage of exam data.
13. Assist in maintaining medical records while respecting confidentiality and established policy.
14. Identify and respond to emergency situations.
15. Follow process for managing equipment and physical environment to ensure a safe working environment.
16. Communicate issues, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to immediate supervisor routinely.
17. Work cooperatively as a team member with co-workers in all departments of the hospital.
18. Apply principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care.
19. Provide optimal patient care.

• Graduate from an accredited institution in medical radiography.
• The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
• Current BLS certification.
• State certifications/licensure as required by the state in which employed

• One year experience in diagnostic imaging preferred.
