Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City in Ellicott City, Maryland (30 minutes outside of Baltimore and 1 hour outside of Washington D.C.) has proudly been serving our community for over 22 years, and we are excited to now be able to offer 24/7/365 care to our clients and their pets. We treat canine and feline patients on an emergency basis and see exotic species for both general practice and emergency care. We pride ourselves on our culture, with a high retention rate and a collaborative, supportive team. Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City (ECEAH) is seeking a full time or part time emergency veterinarian to join our team. ECEAH is one of the oldest emergency animal hospitals in the community. What really sets ECEAH apart is our people and our culture. The ideal candidate will possess excellent medical and surgical skills, be a team player and excellent communicator. The Medicine

We handle a diverse caseload of small animals and exotics with a comprehensive in-house setup: digital radiology, in-house lab, ICU, Snyder ICU, isolation ward, diagnostic ultrasound,  and a full surgery suite, complete with a Force Triad vessel sealer and electrocautery unit. You'll have the tools to practice the medicine you were trained for.

  Qualifications:  

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent, with an active or eligible state license. 

• New graduates and experienced veterinarians welcome to apply

• Strong medical, surgical, and diagnostic skills across companion animal practice. 

• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities. 

• Collaborates effectively in a fast-paced, client-centered environment. 

• Commitment to maintaining professional ethics, safety, and high-quality patient care. 

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and safely handle animals up to 130 pounds. 

• Comfortable sitting, standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods throughout the workday.  

• Professional, neat appearance consistent with hospital standards. 

Compensation and Benefits:

Hours:   

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be available for scheduling during all hours the practice is open to support hospital operations.
