Senior Safety Manager - Data Center

We are partnering with a leading national contractor to identify a Senior Safety Manager , with flexibility to consider a Project Safety Director level professional for the right individual. This is a unique opportunity to join a major data center campus development at a pivotal stage and build the project's safety function from the ground up. The Opportunity This large-scale campus development is preparing for a major restart and requires an experienced safety professional capable of establishing, leading, and scaling a world-class project safety organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping project culture, influencing leadership teams, and ensuring the highest standards of safety performance across a complex construction environment. Key Responsibilities Lead all project safety activities across large-scale mission critical construction projects. Develop and implement project-specific safety programmes, procedures, and initiatives. Build, mentor, and manage a growing team of safety professionals as the project expands. Partner closely with project leadership, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to drive a proactive safety culture. Conduct audits, inspections, training programmes, and incident investigations. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Provide strategic leadership on high-risk construction activities and major project scopes. Required Experience Senior-level construction safety experience on large, complex construction projects. Previous experience supporting projects valued at $500M+ . Experience on mission critical, data center, advanced technology, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, or similarly complex construction environments. Proven track record leading and developing high-performing safety teams. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk management, and construction safety practices. Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire, mentor, and scale project safety organisations. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred. Professional safety certification such as ASP, CSP, CHST, or equivalent preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and practical experience will also be considered.
