BartenderPhiladelphia, PAOverviewJob Shift Any Education Level None Travel Percentage None Category Restaurant - Food ServiceDescriptionPosition SummaryInteract with Guests while following service standards to ensure an overall expedient, excellent Guest experience to create return Guests while responsibly serving beverages in moderate amounts, not to promote overindulgence or advocate any action that could cause Guests to become intoxicated.Reports to: Manager on DutyJob TasksGreet Guests in a friendly professional mannerProvide education about Chickie's style of service and how menu items are preparedEnsure menu, food preparation and ingredient knowledge in order to address Guest's food allergy concerns and questionsSmile and maintain a positive attitude at all timesPerform light food preparation duties when neededFollow all Chickie's & Pete's service standards including up-selling and suggestive sellingInform Guests of daily specialsCheck food and beverages for quality and presentation before servingServe food and beverages to GuestsCheck identification to ensure that Guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beveragesRecognize signs of intoxication and handle alcohol-related situations effectively; keep manager informed when situations arise regarding intoxicated Guests/refusal of serviceProvide food and drink recommendations to GuestsPrepare garnishes for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beveragesWash and sterilize glassware; maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beveragesMaintain cleanliness in all areas of the barReport all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to a managerAssist with restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and suppliesReceive Guest payments and process transactionsSincerely thank all Guests and invite them back for another visit soonClear and clean tables and bar seats promptly according to proper sanitation standardsEnsure all condiments and napkin dispensers are clean and well stockedRespond appropriately to Guest complaints and bring any issues to manager's attentionPerform marketing and other promotional services as neededComplete beginning, change and end of shift side dutiesUnderstand the importance of speed of service and act with sense of urgency when performing job tasksAttend all scheduled employee meetingsAdditional tasks as assignedQualificationsMain Responsibilities, Required Skills and KnowledgeGuest Service: Must consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet Guests' needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from the Guests' overall experience.Communication: Must clearly communicate in a professional manner with Guests, vendors, coworkers and management. Must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction or training.Interpersonal Relationships: Must adapt to different personalities of Guests and coworkers without losing focus.Teamwork: Working together as a team is a critical success factor of any restaurant. Establishing good working relationships is key to maintaining a team-oriented work environment.Performing General Physical Activities: Must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.Problem Solving and Conflict Management: Must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure.Analytical Skills: General accounting and mathematical skills required along with point of sale application knowledge. Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for a successful outcome to problems.Technical Skills: Must correctly operate various mechanical devices such as POS systems, credit card machines and mixers.Quality Control and Priority Assessment: Must evaluate current practices and processes; immediately recognize potential areas of conflict; and initiate ways to improve current business methods, quality of products and services provided to the Guests.Language Skills: Must be able to write and speak English effectively.Flexibility: Occasionally works overtime and assists with the workload of others if needed.
