Cardiac Device Specialist Cardiac Arrhythmia

Primary City/State: Osborn - MOB - 3225 N Civic Center Plaza. Category: Healthcare Support. Shift: Day (Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm). Department: Heart Care-Cardiac Arrhythmia. CIED experience required. Job Summary The Cardiac Device Specialist team member provides comprehensive care for patients in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Rhythm Management, supporting CIED management under the direction of a Device RN Manager, Provider & Practice Manager in accordance with HonorHealth Patient Care Policies and departmental operating procedures. Responsibilities Support CIED management and collaborate closely with EP providers, Device Nurse Manager, and Device Lead Technician. Perform remote monitoring and in‑office evaluation of CIEDs, including wearable devices. Interpret ECG, measured data, arrhythmia burden, diagnostics, Intracardiac Electrograms (IEGM), and heart failure diagnostics. Effectively communicate patient conditions, device abnormalities, and arrhythmias detected to EP providers. Conduct post‑operative wound evaluations, device assessments, patient education, and determine when to refer to EP providers. Apply knowledge of peri‑operative and MRI CIED management, current advisories, recalls, and recommended follow‑up procedures. Manage patient data in manufacturer remote‑monitoring websites, analyze transmissions, enter data into the electronic medical record, and maintain data integrity. Serve as a resource to other departments and to supervisory staff. Perform device in‑office evaluations, pacing and sensing thresholds, analysis, interpretation of IEGM’s, troubleshooting, and programming of manufacturers’ CIEDs (Abbott, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Sorin, Biotronik). Daily monitor remote alert reports, determine appropriate notification and follow‑up based on established criteria. Process and document remote transmissions according to protocol and ensure timely follow‑up scheduling. Report abnormalities to EP providers promptly and notify patients of abnormal results and required follow‑up. Triage patient calls regarding device questions or problems. Submit appropriate billing codes for device evaluations. Travel to satellite clinics as required. Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED. Minimum one year of experience managing cardiac device in‑office evaluations and remote monitoring. Minimum three years as an inpatient monitor technician. Required Certifications & Licenses Certified or Registered Medical Assistant. Basic Life Support (BLS) – current and valid certification. Preferred Certifications & Licenses 12‑Lead EKG Class. International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners Certification (IBHRE) with intent to attempt exam within two years. Experience with manufacturers’ proprietary programmers for Abbott, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Sorin, and Biotronik CIEDs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
