About the Position

Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical (Telemetry)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Every other weekend and holidays required | No on-call required | Expected 72 hours biweekly

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as part of a medical-surgical float pool, supporting up to 15 units across specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, GYN/GU, orthopedics, oncology, transplant, and vascular
• Perform unit-specific procedures including 12-lead EKGs, Lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
• Administer nebulizer treatments; respiratory therapists manage ventilators
• Maintain patient ratios averaging 4:1 on days and up to 6:1 on nights
• Adapt to rotating shift assignments across 8-hour and 12-hour shifts; unit assignments may be provided up to 2 hours before shift start
• Document accurately using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum 3 years of related RN work experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• CPR certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Local candidates are welcome

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a teaching hospital setting
• Specialty area expertise in one or more of the supported service lines (e.g., cardiac, oncology, transplant, neurology)
• Comfort navigating web-based applications and basic computer proficiency
