Software Engineering Co-op (Summer/Fall 2027)

Internship Opportunity At RTX

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

Work within a team of Software and Systems engineers to design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems that are integrated into military helicopters and planes.

Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.

Grow knowledge of Software Engineering and Flight Management Systems.

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.

Experience with C, C++, ADA, and/or Python.

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.

Ability to draft System and/or Software Requirements.

Pilot/Avionics Experience (i.e. Private Pilot, Aircraft Maintenance, DO-178 Certification).

Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Relocation Eligibility.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
