Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney – Accounting Defense
Locations: Dallas, TX | Chicago, IL

Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join the nationally recognized Accounting Defense practice of a premier Am Law firm . This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented litigator to work on high-profile litigation, arbitration, and regulatory enforcement matters representing leading accounting firms, public companies, directors, and officers in some of the most sophisticated disputes in the country.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of litigation experience and a strong interest in handling complex commercial disputes, regulatory investigations, and enforcement proceedings involving agencies such as the SEC, PCAOB, and DOJ.

Responsibilities

• Represent major accounting firms, public company issuers, directors, and officers in complex litigation, arbitration, and regulatory enforcement matters.
• Assist in all phases of litigation, including case strategy, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, trial preparation, and appeals.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, motions, and other litigation-related filings.
• Participate in regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings involving the SEC, PCAOB, DOJ, and other governmental agencies.
• Collaborate closely with partners and clients to develop litigation strategy and deliver practical legal solutions.
• Manage multiple sophisticated matters while maintaining exceptional client service and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• 3–5 years of litigation experience at a law firm.
• Experience handling complex litigation, arbitration, or regulatory matters.
• Elite law firm experience is strongly preferred.
• Outstanding legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-profile matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Active bar admission, or eligibility for admission, in the jurisdiction where the candidate will be based.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: Starting at $260,000 , with compensation commensurate with class year and experience.
