Patient Account Representative - Entry Level

Job TitleResponsible for a variety of office/clerical tasks relating to claims processing; contacts patients and responsible parties to resolve past-due accounts; reviews account status and initiates collection.Essential FunctionsIdentifies accounts with balances as patient responsibilityReview account, and follow-up to retrieve missing account informationAnswers patient inquiries regarding; services rendered on account, insurance guidelines, and outstanding balancesContacts responsible party to resolve delinquent accounts; Assists patients in setting up payment plans, and monitors adherence to plans by responsible partySubmit and post payments to the EMR system ensures that all payments are posted timely and accuratelyResponds timely to emails and letter correspondence from patientsPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications RequiredPrefer experience in medical collections experience but not requiredAbility to respond to questions in a tactful and professional mannerAbility to make basic numerical calculationsComputer literate with entry level working knowledge of Microsoft Suites; Outlook, Word Duties require professional verbal and written communication skillsProblem solving skillsDemonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, prioritize, and facilitate many on-going tasks at one timeAbility to work independently or with a teamProfessional appearancePositive attitudeMinimum Required Education/TrainingHigh School graduate or equivalent required
