NURSE PRACTITIONER PRN

Job Profile Summary Provides intermediate to complex healthcare services to patients by performing examinations, reviewing medical histories, prescribing medications, and interpreting diagnostic tests to diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses, and medical conditions. Position Salary Range $65.00 to $70.00 per hour. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired Qualifications Experience working in an Employee Health Clinic. Activities performed in an environmentally controlled office setting with extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and computer mouse use (75%). Required standing for varying lengths of time and walking moderate distances (10%). Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%). Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, including resolution of conflicts. Responsibilities Determine and formulate health histories and perform physical examinations. Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess client’s clinical problems. Determine and manage minor and/or acute illnesses and initiate symptomatic treatment. Conduct initial care for emergency situations such as illness or injury and initiate arrangements for continuing care. Conduct ongoing health care and clinical management of stable, chronically ill clients. Maintain an ongoing health education program with the assistance and guidance of a health educator [JI1.1]. Conduct informative educational sessions during client visits to ensure understanding by the client of his/her condition and treatment. Collaborate with other health care team personnel regarding client treatment. Prescribe medication or other forms of treatment. Document medical records of client encounters. Refer clients to outside medical and support service facilities. Participate in research studies which include recruiting and screening potential participants, determining whether eligibility criteria have been met and completing required forms for each study. Knowledge of evaluation plans and treatment of clients with a variety of illnesses. Skill in patient care. Skill in the use of medical equipment utilized in area of assignment. Skill in both verbal and written communication. Skill in utilizing and documenting in an electronic medical record.
