Head Field Medical Dermatology Responsible for establishing the vision and strategy for the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team, ensuring the team receives high-level direction, training, coaching, and development. The role guarantees delivery of high-quality scientific exchange regarding dermatology disease states and products to external stakeholders, while generating actionable insights into clinical practice, treatment landscape, and emerging scientific data. Job Description This position can be located in Horsham, PA or remotely in the United States. It provides accountability for execution and attainment of medical objectives in compliant alignment with business strategy, and oversees regional Field Directors and collaboration with the HQ Dermatology Therapeutic Area team and MSL training and analytics functions. Responsibilities Maintain a high level of dermatology therapeutic area expertise, scientific knowledge, and business acumen to support brand strategy and develop Field Medical teams. Translate medical strategic priorities into clear field medical goals, objectives, and initiatives with performance metrics to demonstrate the value proposition of the Field Medical team. Work with Field Directors to develop the external KOL and HCP engagement strategy, maximizing field territory plans and contributing to national KOL and HCP engagement efforts, scientific meeting planning and execution, and professional society engagement. Lead cross‑functional collaboration within US and Global Medical Affairs, US Commercial, Clinical Development, Business Development, and other functions for synergistic opportunities; represent Immunology on cross‑TA initiatives and teams such as the US Field Medical Leadership Board (FMLB). Manage and develop all team members, including hiring, training, mentoring, coaching, performance management, and career development. Represent the Dermatology MSL team and contribute strategically as a member of the Medical Affairs Leadership Team (MALT), Integrated Evidence Team (IET), Launch team meetings, and annual Business Planning. Oversee individual and team metrics to ensure motivation, recognition, and coaching/intervention for Field Directors and MSLs, and help shape appropriate metrics aligned with strategic and scientific needs. Participate in ride‑alongs with MSLs and Field Directors and attend Advisory Boards, congresses, etc., ensuring high‑quality engagements for coaching and development. Leverage data analytics and new technology to identify and segment thought leaders and clinical experts, improving operational effectiveness with metrics and dashboards. Establish and improve processes for capturing, analyzing, and communicating field insights. Determine headcount capacity and manage operating budget in alignment with US medical affairs resource needs. Support ongoing and proposed clinical trials, including prospective Phase 3b/4 and Post Marketing Commitment (PMC) studies, representing the team as national leader. Requirements Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or an APP degree, e.g. DNP). Minimum of 3 years of previous Medical Affairs Leadership experience, including MSL leadership. Minimum of 8 years of Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Research & Development experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Dermatology and/or Immunology experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment. Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills. Travel up to 60% domestic required. Must live near an airport and be available to attend scientific congresses and internal meetings.
