Founded by Peter Selmeczki, a Hungarian immigrant, Pete's ACE Hardware has been in the same location on the boulevard since the day it opened.We are seeking outgoing, friendly, and helpful team members to welcome and assist customers. Previous hardware experience is a plus but not a requirement as we provide training.Position SummaryThe primary responsibilities of the Cashier position are to maintain helpful customer service, process sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently, and cash register operations.The major responsibilities for this position include:Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and maintain all cash at registersActively participate in daily huddle meetingsAnswer customers' questions and provide information on products, procedures, and policiesAnswer phone callsAssist in the training and development of peersConscious of shoplifting activityEnsure each customer receives outstanding service that follows the S.A.L.E.S process and by mystery shop standardsExecute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store managementGreet customers as they enter the storeIssuing receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customersMaintain awareness of all promotions and advertisementsMaintain orderly appearance of register area and supplies stockedResponsive of safety issuesSign and merchandise products in the store as necessarySolicit customers to open an Ace Rewards cardStock merchandise as necessaryTactfully and pleasantly deal with customersUphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards.Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by store managementJob responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.The minimum requirements for this position include the following:A commitment to service, excellence, and customer satisfactionAbility and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the businessAbility to communicate with associates and customersAbility to process information and/or merchandise through point of sale systemAble to operate a computerExceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-taskSolid team player with excellent interpersonal skills with a strong willingness to learnThe minimum physical requirements for this position include:Ability to climb a ladderAbility to stand for an extended period (6-8 hours).Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth.Must be able to lift up to forty (40) pounds frequently to load and unload customer orders.Pay, Benefits, and Perks:401kProfit-SharingHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceEmployee discountFlexible schedulePaid Time OffAce Hardware is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free environment.
