We are looking for a motivated, organized, flexible, and compassionate professional to join our Center-Based ABA Program as a BCA – Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)/Clinical Assistant.

Position Summary

The BHT/Clinical Assistant (BCA) is a unique hybrid position combining direct behavioral health services, clinical support, center programming, and clinical operations.

This is not a traditional administrative position.

The BCA plays an active role in the daily functioning of our center and serves as an implementation resource for clients, Behavioral Health Technicians, and Clinical Leadership. The position requires someone who can move comfortably between direct client care, center programming, preparation, organization, staff support, and changing clinical priorities throughout the day.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working directly with children but is also ready to take on increased responsibility within an ABA environment.

Direct client coverage is an essential function of this position. Clinical and client needs may require modification of previously scheduled administrative or planning activities.

Core Responsibilities

Center Clinical Operations | Approximately 40–50%

The BCA helps ensure that our center is clinically prepared, organized, engaging, and ready to support high-quality ABA services each day.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and finalize weekly center programming and activity plans according to established deadlines.
  Prepare engaging materials, activities, STEM opportunities, adventure activities, leisure programming, and environmental supports.
• Develop materials that support individual client treatment goals and programming.
• Prepare circle time, art activities, reinforcement materials, visual supports, and other center programming.
• Maintain organization and clinical readiness of treatment areas.
• Prepare treatment spaces and materials for upcoming clients, activities, transitions, and special programming.
• Monitor clinical materials and communicate supply or resource needs.
• Manage and organize toys, treatment materials, and center resources.
• Complete assigned CCP and programming updates under the direction of Clinical Leadership.
• Assist with center bulletin boards, client artwork, visual displays, and staff communication areas.
• Identify operational barriers and bring potential solutions to Clinical Leadership.
• Help ensure established center expectations and routines are implemented consistently.
• Complete assigned opening and/or closing responsibilities.

Direct Clinical Support | Approximately 25–40%

The BCA maintains an active Behavioral Health Technician function and should expect direct client interaction to remain an important part of the position.

Responsibilities may include:

• Provide scheduled direct BHT services.
• Provide client coverage during unexpected staff absences or scheduling changes.
• Step into direct services when client or center needs require additional support.
• Provide in-session assistance to BHTs within the BCA's training and scope.
• Support new staff with implementation of established center routines and treatment procedures.
• Assist during client transitions and periods of increased behavioral need.
• Support client safety and established bathroom routines.
• Respond appropriately during behavioral crises using RBC-approved safety and crisis-management procedures.
• Lead client activities and implement established clinical directives.
• Provide temporary client coverage so Clinical Leadership can conduct observations, supervision, training, or other clinical responsibilities.

Because RBC is a clinical service organization, client needs come first. Administrative and planning time is intentionally incorporated into the position; however, specific planning periods are not guaranteed when client or staffing needs require the BCA's support.

When significant clinical coverage affects an established deadline, the BCA is expected to communicate proactively with Clinical Leadership so priorities can be adjusted appropriately.

Staff & Clinical Implementation Support | Approximately 15–20%

The BCA serves as an implementation resource within the center.

Responsibilities include:

• Model established center routines and expectations.
• Help BHT/RBT staff locate and prepare appropriate treatment materials.
• Assist with environmental arrangements that support successful sessions.
• Support implementation of established reinforcement systems and treatment procedures.
• Help staff prepare for activities, transitions, and center programming.
• Identify barriers to successful treatment implementation and communicate them to the appropriate Clinical Leader.
• Assist with orientation and practical center support for new team members.
• Promote consistency, professionalism, organization, and teamwork throughout the center.
• The BCA does not independently modify treatment plans, make clinical treatment decisions, provide formal staff performance management, or independently oversee cases. These responsibilities remain with qualified Clinical Leadership.

Additional Responsibilities

The BCA may also:

• Enter, review, and/or support data processes within Kidnet according to organizational and Managed Care Organization (MCO) requirements.
• Attend required team meetings, trainings, and supervision.
• Assist Clinical Leadership in identifying client and program needs.
• Prepare and distribute treatment materials for center and community-based programming.
• Maintain professional communication with Clinical Leadership and team members.
• Complete documentation and assigned responsibilities within established timelines.
• Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.

What We're Looking For

This position is best suited for someone who doesn't need every day to look exactly the same.

A successful BCA is someone who can recognize what needs to be done, organize priorities, adapt when clinical needs change, and communicate proactively when assistance or reprioritization is needed.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, counseling, behavioral health, or a related field required.
• Valid driver's license required.

Experience & Skills

• Experience working with children required.
• Experience providing behavioral supports strongly preferred.
• ABA experience preferred.
• BHT and/or RBT experience preferred.
• Familiarity with ABA principles, reinforcement, environmental supports, and session programming preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to independently manage assigned responsibilities and deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities throughout the workday.
• Comfortable providing direct client services when needed.
• Ability to effectively multitask in an active clinical environment.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, and Drive.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

This is an active position working directly with children in a busy ABA treatment environment.

Candidates must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, kneel, sit on the floor, transition between positions, and engage in physical activities with children.
• Lift up to 30 pounds independently.
• Respond quickly when client safety requires intervention.
• Work comfortably in loud, active, and energetic environments.
• Participate in required safety and crisis-management training.

Schedule

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

The BCA should be available throughout the established workday and able to maintain flexibility as client attendance, staffing, programming, and clinical priorities change.

No regular nights or weekends.
