Job Title Live Streaming Events Support Associate Location Norfolk, VA Job Overview The chief objective of the Live Streaming Events Support Associate position at Old Dominion University is to ensure the seamless execution of live streaming events, providing a high‑quality and engaging experience for both on‑campus and remote participants. The associate will leverage technical expertise to set up, troubleshoot, and maintain audio, video, and streaming equipment, expanding audience reach, fostering inclusivity, and supporting the university’s mission of providing quality education through digital means. Key Responsibilities Set up audio, video, and streaming equipment for live events. Troubleshoot and maintain equipment and streaming platforms. Ensure seamless streaming experience for on‑campus and remote participants. Collaborate with production teams and stakeholders to coordinate live events. Qualifications Working knowledge of audio/video equipment setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and live streaming platforms. Some knowledge of networking, internet protocols, and connectivity troubleshooting. Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to think critically under pressure. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to adapt to changing business needs. Some experience supporting live streaming events or audio/video production. Some experience operating live streaming platforms and managing live events. Some experience with audio/video equipment setup and configuration. Additional Qualifications Considerable experience operating live streaming platforms and troubleshooting technical issues. Education, training, coursework or certifications in audio/video production, live streaming technologies, or related fields. Knowledge of audio/video equipment setup, configuration, and software tools used for video editing, encoding, and streaming. Considerable skills operating audio/video equipment, configuring streaming setups, and using video editing software. Experience coordinating with production teams and stakeholders. Conditions of Employment Hourly employee, restricted to working 29 hours per week on average or 1,500 hours in total in the May 1 – April 30 period. No health insurance, retirement, or leave. Campus based position in Norfolk, VA. Typical hours 9:00 – 5:00, with occasional weekends or evenings. Compensation Hourly wage: $20.23 per hour (non‑negotiable). Background Check The final candidate is required to complete a criminal history check.
