Senior Software Architect

Salary: $74,000 - 96,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• We require at least 7 years of hands-on experience building Java enterprise applications.
• We require strong expertise in Java enterprise development, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
• We require experience with software quality and security tooling such as SonarQube, GitLab CI/CD, and SAST solutions.
• We require experience delivering secure software in a DevSecOps environment.
• We require familiarity with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• We require experience supporting DoD cybersecurity controls, including RMF and STIG compliance.
• We require a solid grasp of software architecture, design patterns, secure coding, and modern engineering practices.
• We require an active Secret Security Clearance.

• We lead the architecture and technical delivery of scalable, maintainable, reliable, and secure software using open-standard technologies.
• We build and support modern Java enterprise solutions with industry-standard frameworks.
• We design, develop, test, and maintain clean, efficient, secure code in Government-owned Git repositories.
• We guide engineering teams by promoting architecture best practices, coding standards, and secure development methods.
• We take part in and facilitate mandatory peer code reviews to uphold software quality and consistency.
• We ensure compliance with automated quality and security gates through CI, automated testing, and SAST.
• We identify, analyze, and resolve software vulnerabilities, including Blocker, Critical, and High findings before work is completed.
• We assess technical debt and drive remediation efforts according to Government priorities.
• We maintain quality targets such as 90% automated test coverage for new code, an A rating in SonarQube, and inline documentation for at least 90% of methods.
• We partner with cybersecurity teams to meet RMF and STIG requirements.
• We research, prototype, and evaluate emerging technologies, including AI/ML, low-code/no-code platforms, and AI-assisted development tools.
• We mentor software engineers and encourage adoption of modern tools, practices, and technologies.
• We contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, performance, security, and mission impact.
