DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT The City of Kennedale, Texas (pop. 10,233) is seeking a Director of Community Development.Kennedale is located just southeast of Fort Worth. The City of Kennedale is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Community Development Director to lead planning, development, zoning, and permitting operations during a time of dynamic residential and commercial growth. This is a key leadership role with high visibility and the opportunity to make a lasting impact.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee planning, zoning, permitting, inspections, and code enforcement
• Guide development review and long-term community planning
• Serve as staff liaison to City Council, Planning & Zoning Commission, and EDC
• Manage department budget, staff, and strategic initiatives
• Lead public engagement and represent the City at meetings and events

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• AICP certification or willingness to obtain
• At least 5 years of experience in municipal or local government planning/development preferred.
• Proficiency in GIS/CAD and development software
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Strong ethics, professionalism, and community-focused mindset
• Ability to pass a post-offer drug test and criminal history check

SALARY RANGE
