Events Staff

SUMMARY: Performs a variety of duties in the Event Operations area of North Wilkesboro Motor Speedway Operations; and performs related duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsibility of the Office Manager to ensure that all events are serviced by pre/post cleaning, event setup and teardown, and facility projects
2. Responsible for assisting in the suites during events - providing guest services and assistance, from welcoming guests to monitoring all other food and beverage services in this area to ensure for our suite guests receive a professional but memorable experience
3. Involved in event setup equipment as instructed
4. Assists with other clerical or administrative duties as assigned
5. Completes work order assignments in a timely manner
6. Work events and perform various duties as needed to make event successful
7. Assists other departments when needed
8. Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of event operations for a multi-function event complex
2. Knowledge of a variety of operations equipment
3. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
4. Willingness to learn new tasks
5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with NWS staff and the customers.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work involves work in all types of weather. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. This position is part time, up to 29 hours a week plus additional hours and possible overtime during our event seasons. It is required that the position is available to work during event weekends.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED and one (1) year event operations experience in a large event facility, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid driver's license is required and a clear driving record is required.
