Laboratory Accessioner Supervisor

The Laboratory Accessioner Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities involved with accessioning a variety of requests/samples, usually in pathology and laboratory settings. This includes inquiries, communications, and resolutions of issues with requesting clinics, clients, physicians, and patients. May also serves as a liaison between hospital administration and laboratory staff.

Core job functions include overseeing general administrative support for a clinical lab operation, reviewing logs and tracking delivery of lab specimens, managing and responding to laboratory related inquiries and requests for service, processing samples according to company SOPs, addressing urgent customer requests, resolving complex and unusual issues, verifying completed requisitions, collaborating with providers and clinicians to schedule appointments, monitoring patient's self-pay responsibility, complying with UHealth policies and procedures, overseeing the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire process, reviewing and processing information with discretion, supervising the daily activities of the Laboratory Accessioner personnel, identifying and maintaining accountability and quality control of errors, and adhering to University and unit-level policies.

Core qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, three years of relevant experience, performance management, training and development, team leadership, technical proficiency, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
