Lead Bartender

Lead Bartender – Discovery Land Company Location: Troubadour Golf & Field Club, outside Nashville, Tennessee. The Lead Bartender serves as the team leader for bar staff, providing exemplary customer service, extensive knowledge of food and beverage pairings, and flawless beverage creation. The role partners with Food and Beverage Leadership to oversee efficient bar operations and create a memorable Discovery Land Company experience for members and employees. Hourly rate range from $21.00 – $23.00 per hour plus gratuities. Key Responsibilities Oversee bar staff to ensure exceptional service and communication with members, guests, and team members. Greet guests and members politely and promptly, anticipating needs to enhance the experience. Partner with Food & Beverage and Culinary Leadership to create beverage pairings and outstanding experiences. Supervise and train bar staff on SOPs of bar operations, including drink preparation, food handling, POS entry, and set‑up and breakdown. Manage bar inventories and supplies, assisting with orders and stocking as needed. Prepare and serve exceptional craft cocktails, following recipes for syrups and house‑made ingredients, including proper pour ratios. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of all beverages and ingredients, making recommendations based on preferences or food pairings, including wine expertise. Maintain awareness of menu items and daily specials, handling food allergies and special requests. Enter transactions accurately into the POS system, issue checks, and close sales timely per policies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and storage areas, completing daily stocking and opening/closing procedures, monitoring perishable items, and adhering to food safety standards. Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Proven leadership skills in high‑end or luxury resort, restaurant, or private club food and beverage operations. 2‑3 years of bartending experience, preferably in a fast‑paced, luxury setting. Knowledge of HACCP and local food safety standards; holds or can obtain a State Food Safety Certificate. Robust knowledge of wines and other beverages. Passion for liquor trends and creativity in developing new drinks or menu items. Extraordinary attention to detail, quality, and service. Additional Requirements Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Must work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required. Able to work in a team environment. Maintain composure during peak periods. Fluent in English; additional languages preferred.
