Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Days - 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with a 36-hour guarantee.

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at a beautiful new 120-bed facility. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Candidates must be open to floating between different units as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide quality nursing care to behavioral health patients.
• Monitor patient progress and implement treatment plans.
• Administer medications and manage patient care documentation.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques, including Handle with Care if applicable.
• Cooperate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience.
• Experience with de-escalation techniques preferred (CPI or Handle With Care certification is a plus).
• Current RN license is required.
• Familiarity with EHR Wellsky and Omnicell medication systems.
