Commercial Loan Officer (C&I)

Job Description As a Branch Manager with Rockland Trust, you will develop and manage a portfolio of commercial and industrial loan accounts, ensuring compliance with bank policies and maximizing profitability. Responsibilities Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, engaging in consistent new business development activities. Visit existing customers to grow relationships, increase business and secure retention. Originate and service secured and unsecured loans or lines of credit ranging from $5 million to $75 million. Guide junior credit staff and the credit department through opportunity analysis and the preparation of credit approval documents. Recommend loan structures, products, and terms within established lending limits and with managerial input. Monitor current loans and credit lines to ensure compliance with terms and bank policies. Interview applicants to assess business, financials, needs and risk profile. Provide financial advice and counsel to customers and prospects. Study industry, commercial and financial situations to identify opportunities and risks. Make loan and term decisions within limits or forward recommendations to superiors. Collaborate with senior officers on larger loans and lines of credit. Stay informed of portfolio status and market developments. Qualifications Advanced sales and marketing skills. Proficiency in credit legal documentation and the ability to evaluate risk. Experience with regulatory, compliance and due‑diligence requirements. Understanding of bank operations and the credit process. Strong organizational, reasoning and communication skills. Self‑motivated with the ability to multitask and meet critical deadlines. PC skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Minimum five years of commercial lending experience (C&I and/or CRE). Experience in portfolio management and credit analysis. Ability to apply deductive and inductive reasoning to solve problems and to anticipate future decision‑making needs.
