Overview

VHC Health is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist to join our growing, patient-centered practice, one of the most accessible and dynamic medical hubs in the Washington, DC metro area.

Position Responsibilities

· Deliver comprehensive gastroenterology care in primarily outpatient settings

· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

· Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and risk management initiatives

· Support VHC Health’s mission to provide timely, patient-centered GI services

Qualifications

· MD or DO from an accredited medical school

· Completion of an ACGME-accredited Gastroenterology fellowship

· One year of GI experience preferred (new graduates encouraged to apply)

· Eligible for or licensed by the Virginia Department of Health Professions

Qualifications

Purpose & Scope:  

The physician is a member of the healthcare team who works in collaboration with other staff to provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients. The scope of practice of each physician is defined through the health system’s credentialing and privileging committee.

The Physician supports objectives, budget, and performance metrics at the individual level.

Supports all medical activities at the individual level including implementation of quality control standards, risk management and compliance programs.

The role of a physician is to provide quality clinical care to those individuals who have chosen VHC Health in a timely manner to meet the needs of our patients. 

Education:  

Doctorate from accredited medical school is required.

Experience:

One year of medical/surgical experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure:

Licensed to Practice Medicine by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required.
