This role involves safely operating sprinter vans and box trucks to transport HVAC equipment and construction materials, while loading and unloading items at various locations and navigating busy New York City routes and traffic throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sprinter van and box truck safely and efficiently to transport HVAC equipment and construction materials between the yard and job sites.
• Load and unload HVAC materials and other construction items from vehicles using safe lifting and handling techniques.
• Support the team with general labor tasks related to loading, unloading, and staging materials at delivery locations.
• Navigate New York City routes and traffic while maintaining on-time deliveries and adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Park sprinter vans and box trucks safely in urban environments, including tight and congested areas, while protecting equipment and materials.
• Verify that all materials are properly secured in the vehicle before transport to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
• Communicate with supervisors and site personnel to confirm delivery details, locations, and any special handling requirements.
• Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and promptly report any vehicle issues or safety concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and loading areas to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Meet at the yard daily to pick up materials and follow assigned routes and schedules throughout the day.

Essential Skills

• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Minimum of 3+ years of professional driving experience.
• Proven experience driving box trucks and sprinter-type vehicles.
• Ability to safely load and unload HVAC equipment and construction materials.
• Strong familiarity with navigating New York City routes and traffic patterns.
• Capability to perform general labor tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
• Reliable time management skills to maintain delivery schedules.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and traffic regulations consistently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience handling HVAC equipment and mechanical or construction materials.
• Background in construction, mechanical, or related trades is beneficial.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, field-based environment with changing locations.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with yard and job site personnel.
• Attention to detail when securing loads and verifying materials.

Work Environment

You will start each workday at the yard, typically working from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., where you pick up materials in a van or box truck before heading out to various job sites. The role is primarily field-based, with frequent driving, loading, and unloading of HVAC equipment and construction materials throughout the day. You will work in and around vehicles, warehouses, and active job sites in New York City, often in busy traffic and urban conditions. The environment is physically active and may require appropriate work attire suitable for construction-related settings and changing weather conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Woodside, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
