Commercial Portfolio Manager II - Renewable Energy Finance

General Function The Portfolio Manager II is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial loans and underwriting transactions. The role evaluates financial statements and proactively monitors portfolios to understand borrower performance and risk. The Portfolio Manager partners closely with Relationship Managers and Credit Risk throughout the deal lifecycle to structure covenants, evaluate collateral, assess risk ratings, and prepare well‑supported credit recommendations while maintaining the bank’s risk appetite and delivering a positive customer experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain an independent current and forward‑looking view on the creditworthiness of each client and communicate this view to business and risk partners. Perform monitoring actions, conduct periodic deal reviews, and execute decisions to renew or modify deals. Work closely with Credit Risk and Relationship Managers to actively manage the bank’s exposure to the clients in the portfolio. Analyze historical financials and projections to ensure accurate risk ratings, early identification of emerging credit problems, and articulation of industry trends. Manage underwriting, approval and documentation processes for transactions including new money, loan extensions, amendments, waivers, and ancillary products such as treasury management, FX, interest‑rate derivatives, and commodity exposure. Review and recommend credit decisions, perform final risk rating analysis, and provide business partners with credit lending policy interpretation. Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines. Recruit, train, and mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and performance. Meet with prospects and clients as needed. Create and deliver comprehensive portfolio performance reports and presentations for senior management, offering strategic insights and high‑level recommendations. Maintain the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in system records and electronic files, supporting advanced compliance and data governance initiatives. Supervisory Responsibility Provide timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback to other employees, such as credit analysts. Develop employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance career growth. Develop the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning. Recognize and reward employees for accomplishments. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy finance or portfolio management. Strong understanding of accounting, credit analysis, portfolio management, structuring, underwriting, and legal documentation. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional client‑facing presence. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with business and risk partners. Expertise in financial and risk analysis, including financial modeling. Demonstrated expertise in effective problem‑solving. Proficient use of technology and ability to learn new applications. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Compensation and Benefits Commercial Portfolio Manager II – Renewable Energy Finance Total Base Pay Range: $82,100.00 – $172,500.00 USD Annually. Eligible for incentive compensation based on company, line of business, and individual performance.
