About The Role FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications segment is looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to join its team in Washington, D.C., specializing in providing public affairs and communication services to companies within the industrials sector. Our clients represent a range of industries, including chemicals, manufacturing, infrastructure, agrifood, transportation, and aerospace and defense. The team offers expert counsel to help clients navigate complex regulatory environments, manage public perception, and engage effectively with stakeholders. Services encompass policy advocacy, issues and crisis communications, media relations, campaigns and reputation management. The role offers the opportunity to contribute across a wide range of accounts within the industrials sector encompassing diverse tasks such as research and intelligence gathering, project management, stakeholder mapping, narrative and message development, editorial planning and campaign support. You will play a critical role in delivering integrated communication programs to achieve successful results against client goals and objectives. The Consultant must also stay up to date on key issues and current events for their clients, as well as generally across relevant industries. What You’ll Do As a Consultant, you will support communication initiatives by helping design and execute tailored programs that align with client goals. Responsibilities include: Conduct research to inform the development of comprehensive communication strategies. Draft and edit client-facing materials, including memos, press releases, presentations, media summaries, social media content, and email communications. Monitor media and policy developments to prepare regular reports for internal and client use. Assist in tracking program performance and creating progress reports. Identify and research relevant stakeholders and target audiences. Attend and report on relevant events. Client Delivery Develop a strong understanding of each client’s business strategy, services, key stakeholders, and competitive landscape. Support the execution of integrated communication programs across multiple client accounts simultaneously. Consistently produce high-quality, client-focused work that aligns with project objectives and deadlines. Business Development Contribute to maintaining and strengthening client relationships through consistent, proactive support. Assist managers in evaluating client needs and identifying strategic communication opportunities. Compensation Minimum Pay: $68,000 Maximum Pay: $91,000 Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role.
